I have been a surface
coalminer for about two years now.
I began at Appolo Fuels as the fuel man from there I went
to the highwall miner as ground man, then moved up to
the forklift,and then on to the coal loader. When we would
be down, I would always ask if I could work strip so I
would not lose any hours (I have 4 kids depending on me)
While working strip I was tasked trained on many pieces
of equipment.I have my KY surface mining card and I'am
up to date on all my retraining. I left Appolo Fuels because
Century coal called and offered better pay with alot more
benifites,(I had not even been looking for another job.)
Unfortunlty I'am currently on layoff and really need to find
something permently. I'am willing to travel, I can't just sit

My
name is Dale Conn. I am a 46 year old underground certified mine
foreman. I have ten years experience as a foreman, 5 which has
been a 3rd shift mine foreman. I have been a move-crew foreman
for 6 years. I was a production section foreman for 1 year.
I have 17 years underground mining experience. I can operate a
continuous miner shuttle car, roof bolter, scoop, manbuses,
locomotives, and various other pieces of equipment. I've been 3rd
shift mine foreman the past 4 years which has included 3 miner sections
and a long wall. I am currently 3rd shift mine foreman with 2
miner sections and a long wall. I have years of experience
with belt lines, installing head drives, tail pieces, and
take-ups. Belt sizes range from 42" to 72". I am a
certified MET. I have my certification in Blasting and Solid
Blasting. I am interested in work in Pike, Floyd, Knott, &
Perry counties. I would be willing to travel with expenses.
